13Christianity, Heresy and Truth - The debate rages on... what is the true Christian doctrine. Although they refuse to admit it, the modern evangelical theology is based firmly on the doctrine of the Roman Catholic Church, or more accurately, the Church of the Roman Empire.
GP does not mince words when speaking of the horrible effect of the various doctrines such as original sin and eternal damnation which has done more damage to the human spirit and created more distance from God then all the petty sins they accuse is of.
Yet is virulent doctrine is so embedded in the culture that, even when you see the clear fallacy of it, it still influences us on an unconscious level.
All the while there has been a thread that has run almost unseen through the long history of Christianity, the tradition of the mystic.
With a non-dual understanding, plus a depth of knowledge of the mythology of the old and new testaments, GP reveals a deeper and far more encouraging message buried in the ancient stories.
