Chrono Trigger: Defeat Dream Devourer by healing him
Explanation why this happens: Well, basically. the game's HP value is an 16 signed integer (it cannot be higher than 16 bits, and one of those bits only indicates the sign of the number it represents). By doing some simple maths, you get that 2^15 - 1 = 32767. That means that any monster's health can't be higher than that value (since it wouldn't fit into 16 bits signed). And what happens when you get above that value? Basically, the HP's value will overflow and become negative (it will become one of the lowest values the HP can take). Since the monster will then have less than 0 HP, it will be considered "dead" and the battle will end.
(Knowing something about computer's number representation would help you understanding this).
EDIT: Its health was actually 92 points higher because I didn't count the "Mana reaper" attack it did at 3:37 (it was 92 points higher since then).
Sorry again about the bad audio and about the game being in spanish. The first thing happened because my emulator lags unless I lower some settings and the second one is because the save file I needed was on my spanish-translated game.
Thanks to Chronopedia ( chrono.wikia.com ) for posting that information and thus, letting me know this :P
