Retinite is probably the most annoying boss I fought yet, and I actually lost a couple of times before I found a working strategy. It's been a while since I recorded now, but I seem to remember killing the legs first because they are much more annoying than the upper part once the core is gone. Most of the head's attacks are Shadow elemental and can be rendered harmless with the right equipment.
