With the Epoch's ability to travel through time, our heroes return to the Kingdom of Zeal. A meeting with the Earthbound Ones, and the sage Melchior, both exiled from the kingdom, reveals the depths of Queen Zeal's insanity, and her intent to use the Mammon Machine's power to awaken Lavos and achieve immortality. The prototype for the Masamune in hand, our heroes run for the Ocean Palace - but first must get past Dalton on guard duty.
