Crono and Lucca, while investigating the strange cathedral in the middle of the woods looking to save Queen Leene (and by extension, her descendant Marle), find that the queen is indeed being held captive - but are attacked by monsters. Though they fight valiantly, a hidden monster ambushes the two - but they are saved by a valiant knight with the head of a frog.
