Before returning to the basement we head back to the court room to find the Yakra Key which opens the locked chest on the way to reveal the real chancellor, much like in 600 A.D.. If you save him or not has no impact on the game or future sidequests, it just alters some endings a bit. After freeing the chancellor, we visit Melchior in the basement who can forge either one Prism Dress (strongest armor in the game, female characters only) or three Prism Helms (not as protective as the Prism Dress, still the best helmet in the game). I opt for the three helmets and talk to Melchior again who will create more stuff for us since we got the Sun Stone as well. He gives us the PrismSpecs which increase attack power if you like to believe the tooltip and also the Rainbow, Crono's strongest weapon (look at that attack power paired with 70% critical hit chance - it's a freakin beast). This sidequest is done and there are only one-and-a-half sidequests left. Before doing the next one, I try to defeat Spekkio's fourth form but I fail to do so and so I move to 2300 A.D. to start the next sidequest. Somewhere around the area is the Geno Dome, where Robo and the others are greeted by a mysterious human-dissing voice which we will investigate in the next video.
