CiB Game Boy Theater - Animaniacs and Hunt For Red October (Episode 21)
The Original Game Boy is one of the biggest 'game changers' in the history of video games, and essentially ushered in the popularity of handheld games. There are many games that will be classic forever. There are, however, a much, much higher number of simply awful, forgettable, or downright weird games. CiB Game Boy Theater shows you some of the games you might not (and shouldn't be...) familiar with.
I must admit, I'm a bit surprised by Animaniacs - it is made by Konami (who were consistently excellent), but I really expected a standard, bare-bones platformer. The fact that you can switch between all three characters, and each one has its own unique ability is very much a nice touch (also: me being super dumb and not figuring out you can do this for the first minute...). It is definitely a game I could see beating and having fun - but, time constraints so - NEXT!
Hunt for Red October. You're a sub... against other subs... it's hard to control... the sprites are super big and slow... yep. Yep! NEXT! Thanks for watching!
