0The Original Game Boy is one of the biggest 'game changers' in the history of video games, and essentially ushered in the popularity of handheld games. There are many games that will be classic forever. There are, however, a much, much higher number of simply awful, forgettable, or downright weird games. CiB Game Boy Theater shows you some of the games you might not (and shouldn't be...) familiar with.
Faceball 2000 is one of those games that was (probably) very impressive back in the late 80s/early 90s, but like all early 3D games, it has aged about as poorly as you can imagine. I absolutely appreciate what they were doing here - and when you set the difficulty high, the game becomes pretty tough with the enemy movements, but this one is essentially unplayable on this version in 2020.
Bill Elliott's Nascar Challenge, or Bill Elliott's I'm Gonna Be Sick Challenge. Oh MAN, talk about graphics that just make you sick. Again, a first-person view for a driving game on the Game Boy is very technically impressive, but almost impossible to play nowadays. The constant changes (in low FPS) is seriously sickening. Also, that Pit Stop though. So yeah, this episode featured two games that were probably decently impressive in their day, but very, very difficult to play in the modern times. Thanks for watching!
