Bloody Roar 4 was released as a PS2 exclusive on November 11, 2003 (oddly, it was released in Japan on May 24, 2004 --- Japanese-made games usually come out in Japan first). It was developed by HudsonSoft, who you KNOW made my favorite series ---- BOMBERMAN!!!!! --- and was published by Konami.

It's hard to believe that Bloody Roar 4 is the second game in the Bloody Roar series to release on PS2 - Bloody Roar 3 released in 2001. The gimmick with this game was always that you could change into other creatures, which I will admit is a cool gimmick. As always with these fighting games, I will give the disclaimer that I (and to a lesser extent, Trev) am not good at fighting games, and I can't tell if something is merely mediocre or actually really good. It plays well, it controls well, it has interesting characters and interesting stages, so that's nice.

On the negative side, there is seemingly no story for the single player mode, so that's a bummer, and it seems like some characters are much stronger than others --- correct us on that if we are wrong. Regardless, they sure did pump out a lot of Bloody Roar games, and it's pretty obvious why fighting games kinda died off except for the biggest of names. Thanks for watching!
