The Original Game Boy is one of the biggest 'game changers' in the history of video games, and essentially ushered in the popularity of handheld games. There are many games that will be classic forever. There are, however, a much, much higher number of simply awful, forgettable, or downright weird games. CiB Game Boy Theater shows you some of the games you might not (and shouldn't be...) familiar with.

Marble Madness was a 1984 arcade game which used one of those always-neat trackballs, and was eventually ported to literally every system in the world, including the Game Boy in 1991. It was developed and published by Atari Games, which at some point or another was also Midway games.

Marble Madness must have been ridiculously cheap to port, because they put it on everything, but, this port is actually pretty quality. The game runs well, it looks -very- good for a Game Boy game, but at the end of the day, it's Marble Madness. It's a solid idea that (for me) doesn't draw much attention nowadays.

So this is a weird one - Star Wars is a 1991 game that was originally brought to the NES, developed and published by LucasFilms. It was, however, developed for the Game Boy Ubisoft (it says NMX Software on Wiki) and published by Capcom. To make things -more- confusing, the Player's Choice (Greatest Hits) version on Game Boy was actually published by Nintendo. That's why you'll see two different box arts --- they are actually both the same game (a port of the NES one).

WHEW. The game itself is fine - it's a bit too much 'where the heck do I go?' as you can see from me playing in 5 minutes, but with trial and error, you could enjoy this one --- a pretty solid experience - thanks for watching!
