Deadly Arts was released on September 29, 1998 as a Nintendo 64 exclusive -- it was developed and published by Konami.

I'm fairly disappointed in Konami with this one. Deadly Arts isn't even an early N64 release, but it's so bare-bones that you could easily mistake it for a launch title. There's just nothing to this game -- a potentially 2-button fighter (we still don't know what L or the c buttons do) with absolutely no story, a limited cast of characters -- it just doesn't have much to give.

The character creation is nice but pretty limited, although I did like the small cutscenes/story during the training session. Seriously though, what is up with the out-of-box time limit? 30 seconds for a round in a fighting game that is mostly based on rock-paper-scissors blocking? Wow.

This is one you should definitely avoid unless you are trying to collect every N64 game, or bad games in general. Regardless, thank you for watching!
