CiB Let's Try - Sidewinder (Australian Unlicensed NES)
Sidewinder is an unlicensed NES game that was released in 1989 in PAL regions. It was developed by Sachen, who developed a lot of games I have never heard of, and it was published by HES, who also published the infamous(ly awesome) Little Red Hood for NES.
I picked this game for a Let's Try video because it came in a very unique box - the box itself is very similar to those clamshell VHS cases you may have seen a lot of Disney movies release in. It's not -quite the same as those, but very close.
Unfortunately, the case for the game is absolutely the most interesting part about Sidewinder. It's a very simple vertical shooter where you get one life, then it's back to start. I could potentially see the allure in going for a high score / getting to the next level in 1989, but the gameplay is pretty dated even for back then. Thanks for watching!
