Tecmo Super Bowl was developed and published by Tecmo, and released in 1996 for the PS1, making it a relatively early PS1 game.

Being that this was an early PS1 game, it's more in the original 2D style, which doesn't suit the PS1 as much as it did the early cartridge-based systems. After we figured out that circle let you change between receivers, the game definitely opened up a lot more, but it just feels a bit lacking on the PS1 - like they didn't make any advancements on the hardware - and it just makes you want to go back and play the older ones in the series.


Technically, this was the last Tecmo Super Bowl game, if you don't count the DS one released in 2008, or Tecmo Bowl Throwback in 2010, which you may or may not.
