Cid's Ultimate Sacrifice | Final Fantasy XVI [Part 15]
4The trio and Torgal head deeper inside the mountain, getting closer to the Mothercrystal, but before we get to it we're met with a poor dragon who has been poisoned by the blight. After besting the dragon we make our way into the inner sanctum where a primed Cid destroys the crystal with a massively overpowered lightning bolt. However this action causes a portal to appear with one of the creepiest enemies we've come across so far, after a very intense two part battle between Ifrit and Typhon. Clive returns from the other side of the portal only to be met with another new enemy, a gravely injured Cid comes to the rescue but it's too late and before he succumbs to his injuries he gives up his Eikon power to Clive. As Clive and Jill grieve over Cid's corpse the enemy reappears but Joshua appears just in the nick of time to save everyone and seal Ultima inside himself. Meanwhile back at the hideaway Kupka's men are slaughtering all of our friends looking for Cid while Kupka himself appears in full Titan form to destroy the whole hideaway in his rage over Benedikta's death.
