Non regulatory halts, what are they and how is citadel in control?
Non regulatory halts can be implemented by the SEC/NYSE when there is a significant imbalance between buy and sell orders (either in an illiquid market, or during a short squeeze).
The SEC can halt trading for up to 10 days, then, designated specialists must determine an appropriate trading price for AMC.
Who are these designated specialists? Market Makers.
Who are the designated Market Makers? Citadel & Virtu... Ouch.
