Cities Skylines 2 launched today on PC (Steam and Windows), and I think it's fair to say on the back of mostly negative reviews & my own early access gameplay, that Cities Skylines 2 is a bit of a hot mess right now. Minor gripes aside, it's the Cities skylines 2 benchmarks and performance that's a show stopper for many people. Even on my content creation system, with a 4090 and 12900KF, I struggle to achieve a solid framerate. Dips, spikes and hitching is very common, especially above 5-10k population. In this videoI reflect on the initial launch, share Paradox's Cities Skylines 2 Performance Optimization Improvements in the hopes of providing a performance fix for some players, and reflect on my own experience with performance, before some future insights at the end.
