37How to build the perfect public transport network in Cities Skylines.
I wanted to share my reasoning why i consider Metro as the best method for doing public transport. I compared the costs of several connection types and compared to Rail, monorail, tram, bus or cablecars Metro provides the most benefits for a prace nothing can compete with. I am laying this out in a Graphic i composed comparing all the prices and you can find that here:

Some of my findings were: Highways don't change their reoccuring price depending on elevation or tunneling other types of roads do. So want an below ground connection always opt for highways.
- Bus carries 30 passengers per unit
- Cablecars as well
- Trams transport 90 passengers per Train
- Metro 150
- Monorail 180
- Passenger train 240
BUT a metrostation costs the same as a monorail station where as a trainstation costs 6 times as much
Metrotracks cost half of Monorail tracks But train tracks cost 9 times as much as metro tracks when put underground.
The really cool thing about metro is that it does not interfere with anything on the surface like zoning, traffic, roads, parks or anything like that if kept below ground, which makes it ideal for a citywide public transport network.

Rules for the series:
- self-sufficient industry
- self-sufficient City
- no despawn / hardmode 24/7
- realtime mod, even higher difficulty (cims get up want to go to work school - rushhour, cims have lunchbreak - rushhour, leave work / late shift - rushhour, No construction & education on weekends or through the night, real nightlife ...)
- Unique buildings were reset before the series, have to earn them all back legit
- no cheaty mods (automoney, RCI demand fix stuff, or other convinience mods, except for tasks i could also perform myself)
