Before cities skylines there was cities in motion, not to bad of a game but also not too smooth - there are some odd restrictions and odder transportation issues that go well beyond my understanding and might be wholly me related as opposed to the game's fault.
But i never claimed economics is my strong suit so this makes sense to me, at least its somewhat interesting even if it lacks the organic growth of TTdL, which i do find to be most satisfying part of that game duology. Oddly enough that city growth seems to be more of an exception to the rule than commonality as i have played few other games that also lack it (transit giant and its sequel - admited counterpoint to that is transport fever 2 and the truck game buzniess sim err freight tycoon? tho they come with subset of their own issues) which is exactly why i claim that transport tycoon deluxe is STILL reigning undefeated champion of transport games for over 3 decades now! (if you count the pre-deluxe its closer to 35 years!!!).
