Classic Game Room reviews STARWINDER for PlayStation from Mindscape released in 1996!! Race the space rails and wind the Star Sphere or whatever for the glory of something. It's STARWINDER!!! Players control Connor Rhodes, a human from Earth who is competing on the rails, a series of mystrious tracks floating around the universe upon which futuristic combat racing is held. Starwinder claims to be The Ultimate Space Race featuring numerous space ships, aliens, robots and humanoid opponents who want toe Star Sphere just as much as you do!
Racers glide as close to the rails as possible for maximum speed while avoiding obstacles like asteroids and space debris. Opponents and random enemies play rough and fire laser beams and missile to slow your progress in an attempt to cross the finish line first.
Brilliantly accented with CGI-animated cut scenes and silly writing, Starwinder tries to pack as many laughs into the game as possible with more than 50 minutes of cut scenes.
