Class(ic) Introductions: The Magus [Pathfinder 2nd Edition]
Hello Travelers & Tourists,
Welcome back to Class(ic) Introductions - a series that takes a big picture look at various classes in TTRPGs & asks what they offer for players interested in that sort of character! Today, we're looking at one of the two classes added to Pathfinder 2nd Edition in Secrets of Magic: The Magus!
The Magus builds on a long-standing tradition in TTRPGs of blending swords & sorcery into one character - a master of martial AND magical might! The appeal of mastering two different domains is obvious, but many games struggle to implement these characters in a reasonable & balanced fashion.
However, Pathfinder 2nd Edition's Magus is one of my favorite takes on this style of character - and in this video, we're going to dive into what this class has to offer players, examining it's role, complexity, key concepts, strengths, weaknesses, subclasses, & general tips for play!
