By now you’ve totally heard of that crazy new movie “Cocaine Bear,” directed by Elizabeth Banks. But did you know it was actually based on a true story? That’s right! In 1985, a real bear ate over two million dollars worth of cocaine that it found in a forest in Georgia! That’s seventy five pounds of cocaine! Now, Elizabeth Banks and screenwriter Jimmy Warden have teamed up to bring that true story to life with their audacious new film “Cocaine Bear.” We’ll give you an exclusive behind the scenes look at this groundbreaking new film, but to give you a spoiler now, the bear in the movie is entirely CGI. Peter Jackson’s CGI company “Wētā FX” did an awesome job bringing such a crazy story to life! Also, Mark Mothersbaugh, former frontman of DEVO, did the soundtrack, so you know it’s got some juicy synth hooks to add to the nostalgia factor of this movie. Elizabeth Banks has directed some other awesome films too! She directed Pitch Perfect 2 in 2015, and Charlies Angels in 2019. However, Cocaine Bear might be her craziest movie yet. She’s expertly combined the key elements of horror and comedy to create a truly unique film. And it had a pretty slim budget! Only 35 million dollars, which, in terms of Hollywood filmmaking, isn’t that much money. Watch this video and let us know if you have the guts to watch Cocaine Bear in theaters now!
