Cocoon by Ludei could be thought of as a performance oriented version of Cordova, at least initially. It enabled you to run accelerated Canvas and WebGL games, built as native executables for iOS and Android, with your HTML5 code "cocooned" in their accelerated runtime. Unfortunately Ludei/Cocoon are announcing their termination today.
