This game started off horrendously, one of the worst initial releases of any CoD game. (Until Vanguard dropped)
Many people quit the game months into its release, however SHG worked their butts off to "fix" the game and improve it in many ways.

They revamped the Division system, introduced Specialist bonus and many other "perks" or basic trainings as they were referred to in-game.
The introduction of the Commando division set a standard that I've expected ever since. Health regen being triggered upon kills. This perk skyrocketed my respect for the game & actually made it consistently playable/fun. The harsh SBMM of the game slowly melted away as gunskill prevailed once again, if you were in a 1v2 scenario, if you beat the first guy and took damage, you had a fair chance of beating the second as the health regen was insanely fast with Commando, this increased the skill gap, pair that with Escalation (A perk that allowed you to aim in faster after kills, and it instantly reloaded your magazine if you got multikills) it enabled good players to go on massive tears without the need to ever stop.
