As the focus for British work in Afghanistan looks ahead to next year, the main base for troops will be in Kabul.

Key work is already happening there with ISAF headquarters based in the capital, and British mentors working at the Afghan National Officer Training Acadamy at Camp Qargha.

A vital role supporting them is being done by the Coldstream Guards.
