1We're getting close to the end of the game, with just the secret level and the boss stage to go!
But first, let's take some time to explore the innards of that mountain that was blocking the way to the boss's lair. Since it's possible, even required, to just go over the mountain instead of trying to pass through the cave system, this would be one of the more missable parts of the game. I want to see what's there, though, and confirm exactly what about it makes the seemingly-expected route unusable.
Being as only episode 1 of the Vorticon Invasion trilogy was shareware, I'm less familiar with the next two games. As I recall, this one includes a secret level, a hidden key to the Standard Galactic Alphabet (probably in the secret level), and a friendly marine cryptid (which I think gives access to the secret level). There's also a proper final boss, not to mention a mountain level where (whether accidentally or by design) the apparently intended route is outright impossible. And that's about all I remember.
