Commodore - Episode 138 - BASIC PROGRAM TO TEST 5 1/4 INCH DISKS - David Bradley - TPUG DISK
5I picked up lots of wayward disks at the World of Commodore Show in Toronto on December the 1st, 2018, and I also have lots of disks that have been sitting around for yes, decades, so it is time to go through them, little by little as I do other things and figure out which of them are good and separate those that are corrupt!
But it would be easier if I had a little disk rescue management program to help me initialize the drives, backup the disks, or format and copy as the case may dictate.
So here is a screen view of the start of my grand and glorious disk management system.
It starts off pretty basic, but over the following days, weeks, months, it will grow and who knows, maybe it will end up on a TPUG disk to help others go through their stacks of disks as they attempt to determine what is good and what disk has lost its magnetic charm...
There will always be troubles when you program and indeed, I experience some troubles not far into this grand project...stay tuned!
