Complete in Box Plays - Fear Effect - Part 1
1It's time to play another one of Spenser's top 10 or so favorite games --- it seems we keep crossing games off of the 'I gotta LP this' list.
Fear Effect is a very unique PS1 game that mixes action, puzzles, and a ton of FMVs in a very, very R-rated set-up. You'll notice right away that all of the backgrounds are FMVs - the fact that they fit this game on 4 discs is actually astounding, considering how much space FMVs took.
The background FMVs actually come into play a lot - there are a lot of puzzles that are very specifically timed with the background animations looping, so you always have to pay attention to your surroundings. Check out the electric floor puzzle in this part as a good example of this.
You play as three different characters - Hana (Uh uh! Uhhh... NO!), Glass (Uh......Uh uh.), and Deke (NOT BLOODY LIKELY), all of which are a bit too sarcastic in the face of constant and certain death. Enjoy!
