In the police station, about 5 minutes into the game, you open up a locker and find either the grenade launcher, or the magnum. The grenade launcher is way better and faster, but there is a separate category for choosing to continue with the magnum... this is one of those runs.

There are a few things different --- first, you pick up 2 more gunpowders early on, usually leading to a quick item box stop (which is not necessary with the grenade launcher). The clock tower Nemesis fight is much slower / lamer, cause freeze rounds are Nemesis' big weakness, whereas the magnum is... not. Lastly, the Gravedigger fight sucks just about as much as it normally does, but it takes a few more shots.

Overall, getting the magnum loses roughly 45 seconds to 1 minute for top level players. I lose time anyway, so no problem there... enjoy!
