We start in Balamb, which has been overtaken by Galbadian forces. I must've used a walkthrough for this part, because I do not remember it at all -- and once again, it is not obvious what person you have to talk to, in order to get the next Flag started. What a mess.

After we fight 'WAIFU.', it's time to head over to Trabia Garden for the mother of all story dumps. Seriously, this part is still contentious over 20 years later. The fact that every member of the party besides Rinoa grew up in the same orphanage, which was ran by Headmaster Cid and Edea, who were married, AND they forgot all about it because using GFs takes away all their memories is admittedly a neat idea that is completely and undeniably bungled. I'm certain that there is a way to present it in a much less ridiculous way, or perhaps give some hints throughout the game so far or something, but the way it is presented is just a huge mess, and a big reason a lot of people have problems with FF8.

... and then we finish with some Triple Triad, so at least there's that! Now that we have the huge story dump out of the way, we have much more actual gameplay coming next time. See you then!
