CiB Let's Try - Doom Troopers (SNES)
Doom Troopers was released on September 1, 1995 for the SNES and Sega Genesis. It was developed by Adrenaline Entertainment, who also developed standout titles like Poker Face Paul (Game Gear), Sports Trivia (Game Gear), and Into the Void (DOS). It was published by Playmates Interactive Entertainment (PIE... mmm, PIE...), who also published MDK, Battle Arena Toshiden, and PowerSlave, which is a very underrated FPS on the Playstation and Saturn.
I was worried that Doom Troopers would be remembered as a good game, and it looks like that's not the case, thankfully. SNES Drunk's review shows Stage 3 (where we ended the playthrough) and said 'I wouldn't be surprised if this is where most people turn this game off' LOL. So, yeah.
Doom Troopers definitely plays better on the Sega Genesis - the game runs much faster and smoother - but that does not make Doom Troopers a good game. There are tons of Contra-type games that are a lot better for the SNES, such as 'True Lies', which is a surprisingly good movie-based game. Thanks for watching!
