This tutorial explains how to connect your Android phone to a Windows PC using Microsoft’s Phone Link feature (previously known as “Your Phone”). This feature allows you to sync messages, notifications, calls, and even mirror your Android screen on your Windows device, making multitasking between your phone and PC more seamless.

To get started, you need to first open the Phone Link app on your Windows computer. You can do this by typing “Phone Link” into the search bar on your taskbar and clicking the app when it appears. Once opened, you'll be prompted to choose the type of device you want to connect—select “Android.”

Next, grab your Android phone and open the Google Play Store. In the search bar, type “Link to Windows” and download the app developed by Microsoft Corporation. After installing it, tap “Open,” and then sign in with the same Microsoft account that’s being used on your PC. Alternatively, you can use the QR code option shown on your PC screen. On your Android device, tap the option to connect using a QR code and grant any necessary permissions. Then, scan the QR code displayed on your computer.

Once scanned, your Android phone and PC will establish a secure link. After setup is complete, you’ll be able to view and respond to text messages, access recent photos, manage notifications, and more—all from your Windows computer. Some Android models (especially Samsung and Surface Duo) may support additional features such as screen mirroring and app streaming directly from the PC.

This feature is especially helpful for users who work across both devices and want to reduce the need to switch back and forth between screens.
