How to Install a VPN on TP Link Router !
If you want to install a VPN on your TP-Link router, this step-by-step tutorial explains how to do it using the built-in VPN client feature available on many TP-Link routers. Installing a VPN at the router level allows all connected devices to benefit from VPN protection without needing to install individual VPN apps on each device. This is especially useful for smart TVs, gaming consoles, and other devices that don’t support VPN apps directly.
To begin, make sure your TP-Link router model supports the VPN Client feature. Log into the router's web interface by visiting [https://tplinkwifi.net/](https://tplinkwifi.net/) in your browser. Enter your TP-Link ID and password, or use the local login credentials you set during setup.
Once logged in, navigate to the Advanced tab. From there, find and click on VPN Client*. If it’s your first time using this feature, you may need to enable it by toggling the switch and saving the settings. Next, go to the *Server List section and click the Add button to create a new VPN profile.
In the popup window, you'll be prompted to enter details such as the description, VPN type (like OpenVPN or L2TP/IPSec), and VPN server address. These details should be provided by your VPN service provider. You’ll also need to upload configuration files if required, and input your VPN credentials. After filling in all the required information, save the profile and return to the Server List to enable the newly added VPN.
Now go to the Device List section and click Add to select which connected devices should route their traffic through the VPN. This lets you customize which devices are protected and which are not. After selecting the devices, save the changes and refresh your router. Your VPN should now be active, and the selected devices will use the encrypted VPN tunnel for internet access.
