Thank you for your patience. The time has come to continue on with the last few factions. This battle will be under new rules. All AI opponents will be Baron difficulty. The map size is huge. And instead of a free for all, it is a 2v2v2 match. My partner was another High Cultist as we used Cthulhu and the powers of insanity to destroy the other two teams. Oh and the setting is random though I think we got Dark Age. Also I checked off starting next to your teammates and that you will not die until both team members are wiped out.

Anywho, the High Cultist has standard recruitment options. The faction has the unique feature to get free insane units from all coastal cities. Unfortunately, there are not that many in a huge dark age map. The Cultists themselves have some really nice spells at their disposal, most of the involving paralyze or damage and paralyzing.

But, the Cultists are unique in the fact they are unable to reach end tier unlike other caster factions. High Cultist is only tier two and the only way to get 3rd level casters is to summon them from the depths

Summons use sacrifices but the costs cannot be adjusted. Despite this, a control check is still required which is rather annoying as it means its entirely luck based on whether something flips out on you or not. The summons start off with mostly just heavy physical melee units. But the higher summons end up summoning groups of these units or summoning deep heroes. These summons can only be performed while near a non frozen body of water which can be a bit limiting for them.

The general goal for the cultist is to summon caster deep ones and use their unique abilities. Star Horrors can be upgraded to 3rd level casters and have the ability to summon uncontrolled Horrors that rampage through the lands. Queens of the Deep are level 2 casters that have the ability to summon an army of the deep which is either a mass of units or King of the Deep. King of the Deep have similar special powers but are also 3rd level casters.

Overall, these guys have some incredibly nasty spells. I find water magic to be really deadly with the stuns and 1-999 mass army spells. And the paralyze effect is perhaps the most annoying status effect in this game.
