Cookie Cutter Review | Well Enough, But Not Enough
29Cookie Cutter, developed by Subcult Joint LTD, is a 2D brawler metroidvania that takes place in a cyberpunk setting. With hand-drawn visuals, and a strong start I was quickly pulled in and excited to see what else the game had to offer. Unfortunately as time went on, Cookie Cutter became less and less interesting as the cracks in the design began to show. The story and theme quickly fall into the background, and there is a point where the game doesn't seem to know what it wants to deliver. While it's certainly a visually impressive game that has some interesting ideas, it just doesn't execute well enough on them to keep me engaged for the entire runtime.
