In OS X 10.11 and newer, you can access a Copy Pathname option to quickly copy a file or folders path directly to the clipboard.

To access this feature in OS X Finder, hold down the OPTION key when right-clicking a file, you'll then see a "Copy FILE as Pathname" option. Selecting that places the files path into the clipboard, where you can paste it anywhere.

This will always copy the complete full file path, it's not relative.
