If you have seen some of my board game videos in the past, you know that Cosmic Encounter is far and away my absolute favorite game. I'm a huge fan and have made several videos about it in the past.
Some people have asked me about the alien powers. With all the expansions from Fantasy Flight, not to mention a decades-long history, there's a LOT to choose from. What works, what doesn't?
In this series, every time I'll introduce a set of 5 alien powers that work well around a theme and/or game mechanic to make for some very interesting (sometimes confusing!) gameplay. In this video I talk about powers that can change the game at one of the key places - encounters. Shifting cards around, cancelling encounters, reworking them, all sorts of craziness. Basically, the card you play will rarely end up being played as intended. Enjoy!
