Welcome back to my Countdown to Sonic Mania! This is a series of videos looking back at the majority of the Sonic The Hedgehog Franchise in anticipation for the upcoming 2D platformer Sonic Mania scheduled for release August 15th 2017
Sonic Heroes released in Japan late 2003 and was Sonic's very first multi-platform game. Other territories would get the game in early 2004. The GameCube version came out first and was the most stable. The Xbox and PS2 versions released at later dates as they were ported from the GCN using the Renderware Engine.
Frog Forest is my number 1 favorite stage in this game. I love the music, the level design and the callbacks to previous Sonic games. The gimmick in Frog Forest and Lost Jungle is rain. The green frogs (That look just like Froggy) make vegetation grow, creating new platforms and alternate paths. The black frogs only show up in Lost Jungle and the rain they create destroy plants and vines.
