★ You ever noticed stutters while playing game even with v-sync and Fraps reporting 60 fps or any FPS above 30/60? The reason frame time is more important than frame rate is seen and experienced here with 2 LGA 775 chips, one dual core and other quad core. Dual core may get somewhat solid frames but what is going on in that split second is a mystery to Fraps and frame rate reporting software. That's where frame time analysis comes handy as it prooves that Core 2 Duo is just not enough for smooth gameplay. And smooth 30 fps is always better than 40 fps with stutters, any gamer will agree on this point.
GTA V CPU battle in splitscreen comparison between 2 2008 chips, dual core Wolfdale and quad core Yorkfield.
This is a CPU benchmark test. Notice the somehow high FPS reported by Fraps on C2D system but frame times will tell you the truth. Stuttering is a huge problem on low end systems and dual core C2D E8400 just can't cope with GTA V engine even heavily OC'd.
