The 5th level of each elemental chamber in the Warp Room always seems to be one that accurately portrays its element well.

For Compactor Reactor's case, it represents Earth in that there's a mining factory deep inside a cave, and Crash even has to use a mine cart to reach it without running into any Nitro crates along the way.

Once the mine carting is done, the rest of the level is pretty straightforward. For now, no extra Gems to worry about here besides the one you can get from smashing all of the crates in this level. Just do that and get the Crystal and you'll be done for now.

However, there's a sign with a Yellow Gem on it near the beginning of the mine cart course that may lead to yet another Gem...

Once you've gotten all 5 Crystals out of each Elemental Warp Room Chamber, that chamber's levels then become locked out, while its boss level becomes unlocked. You can't retry any of the levels, or move on to the next chamber, for that matter, until you beat the chamber's boss, which is always Crunch in some shape or form.
