It's time to start of my 4th Crash Bandicoot playthrough (though, at this point, it's no longer considered the 4th Crash game in ANY sense). This time, it is the 4th platformer in the series, and the first one to not be made by Naughty Dog since they have already finished working on this series by this point to work on Jak & Daxter. Since Universal owned the rights to Crash at the time, they went to Traveller's Tales to have them make this game for them to publish. For some reason, they also needed Konami's help distributing it.

Although this game feels so much like a carbon copy of Warped, I still love it as one of my favorite Crash games ever. I still intend to make a playthrough for CTR: Crash Team Racing, at least. Just not right now.

This is playthrough is of the PS2 version. To save you guys some trouble, beyond this video, I will trim down the length of the loading times or just outright remove them entirely when I edit my recordings of this game for processing for YouTube.

If I do remove the loading screens entirely, I might make a disclaimer between where they used to be to tell you such and that these cuts don't actually exist in the game itself. Consider that a courtesy straight from me when it comes to viewing the videos I'm gonna be making for this game.
--------------

If you want to believe that this takes place after Crash Bandicoot: Warped (and at this point, I don't blame you if you don't), then Dr. Neo Cortex, and all of his top henchmen from that game, Dr. N. Gin, Dr. N. Tropy, Tiny Tiger, and Dingodile have all returned after Crash & Coco beat them.

They all have a meeting with their higher boss, Uka Uka, who is furious at everyone's failure at accomplishing their evil scheme. They blame it on Crash, of course, so Uka Uka wants a new plan out of them that can finally get rid of that bandicoot.

N. Tropy brought up a superweapon that Cortex was working on ever since Crash beat him, before. N. Gin knew, too, but based on Cortex's hand gestures, he wanted them to shut up about it in front of Uka Uka.

So now that they've spilled the beans to that evil mask, Cortex explains to him that in order to complete the superweapon, he needed one final missing element. The word "element" caught Uka Uka's attention, so he suggested the powers of masks called "Elementals" to complete Cortex's superweapon. With his new plan going into motion, Cortex was ready to unleash his Wrath!
--------------

Back on Earth on a beach, Crash Bandicoot and his friends were enjoying their trip in the sun. His little sister, Coco Bandicoot, got a brand new jet ski, and Crash was trailing behind her on a ski board. Aku Aku and Coco's pet tiger, Pura, were relaxing on the shore, but this wouldn't last much longer, as something started to go wrong...

The ground shook, a volcano erupted, a thunderstorm was gathering, and the water's tides were rising! The tides knocked the bandicoots back on shore with Aku Aku and Pura. Concerned, Aku Aku went to talk to his twin brother Uka Uka while everyone else headed home.

It was from there that Uka Uka reveals to Aku Aku that he set the 4 Elementals free! They are:

- Rok-Ko: The Earth Elemental
- Wa-Wa: The Water Elemental
- Py-Ro: The Fire Elemental
- Lo-Lo: The Air Elemental

With these 4 masks unleashed, the world was at stake again just as it was when they were released eons ago! Aku Aku was forced to retreat to tell Crash and Coco what happened.
-------------

According to him, the only way to defeat the Elementals is to gather 5 Crystals for each of them and use them to reseal them. This would require traveling all over the world to find these new sets of Crystals. You'll actually have to collect 25 Crystals in total, again.

Luckily, through Coco's invention, a new Warp Room called the Virtual Reality Hub System, doing this would be a lot easier. So everyone heads there so that Coco can do some last-minute finishing touches to the hub through her computer.

With a new Warp Room to themselves, the bandicoots, Crash & Coco, prepared themselves for a brand new Crystal-hunting adventure!
----------

Japan had already called this game a "Crash 4", but no other region has done that. And now that there's a REAL Crash 4 out there...
