"There's two ways you can approach this time trial in order to surpass the developer's time:

#1. Skip the Aku-Aku at the beginning and gain great distance & save time with Fruit Bazooka. However, you won't have the Aku-AkuX3 for Phase II. Thus makes it so brutal to not lose time.

#2. Collect the Aku-Aku near the beginning. You won't gain the excellent distance as option #1, but Phase II will be a breeze. No fear of losing time with Aku-AkuX3.

I went with option #2 because I wasn't successful with option #1. I cannot for the life of me not lose so much time from Phase II. Here's the scoop... With option #2, your run must be damn near perfect! I figured out a way to collect the 2nd Aku-Aku while still maintaining my speed.

According to Bandipedia and end-credits, the Developer Time is (1:15:36) by Donovan Soto. I manage to surpass his time by 0:26 of a second! When I meant you have to be damn near perfect, the numbers speak for itself."
