So, after finishing off the autoscroller and completing the car chase scene with the Rhinos, we then head off into the next mission which has us trying to swim under the sea. The swimming in this game isn’t bad but I always go through these missions really slowly because it’s hard to tell what is in the foreground/background/in front of you. Usually these missions are split into two different sections and it differs on which one we start out doing depending on the mission. For this particular one, we start out by swimming around with an oxygen tank and flippers while the latter half of this mission has us commandeering a submarine of sorts. The actual swimming does feel a little odd at times because crash takes his time turning and the turn speed is much slower that on land but you’d expect that being underwater and all; It just means that I now have to get use his new movement so bear with me. The Submarine is very similar in that regard (just having to get use to how the movement works); the real challenge of these missions is just trying to understand what is happening in the mission; objects in the background can sometimes feel like they are in the foreground and the same thing is true of pretty much everything except for the enemies. The enemies underwater are rather annoying because if you aren’t paying too much attention, they will just appear from nowhere. There is one that will charge off screen towards you, the mines that fall from the ceiling (they do have a particular sound when they start falling so you can tell that you triggered one but you might not realize it till it starts to fall), and you also have to worry about shots not connecting when you thought they did (Not sure if that was just my own fault but I swear I shot a jellyfish but the shot didn’t register and I ran into thinking that it should’ve died; probably my own mistake but I feel like venting a little).
