So, after screwing around under the sea, we finally get to our first Coco Mission (or, at the very least, one of the first few Coco Missions). I’ve mentioned that I don’t really like these mission because Coco plays slightly differently from Crash, especially later in the game. As we’ve seen, Crash will get new bonuses from the boss fights that changes his gameplay (whether that’s a simple double jump or the ability to slow creep over Nitro boxes) but Coco doesn’t get any of those abilities, in fact, she plays more like Crash does at the beginning of the game. The reason I don’t like that is because you get so used to playing as Crash that it feels like you lost all of those powers you received from beating the bosses in the game. Her controls aren’t horrible (as I’ve said, they are similar to how Crash plays at the beginning of the game) but it’s the fact that we can’t upgrade her movement/have them be the same as Crash’s. I’m probably complaining about nothing and it’s just me who doesn’t like the dramatic changes in playstyle but these ramblings are supposed to be my own opinion on the game. Speaking of weird movement, we then have to commandeer yet another vehicle in the game and this time it’s some sort of Fire Fly. We have to fly around on a plane and blow up several ships that are in the Harbor with our own bomber (Like I said, the missions make very little sense when you put them together since they have no real backstory/ever explained to you). The ship it’s self doesn’t feel too bad, it just feels slower than it should and I had to constantly move the camera to see everything (the field of view is too small to see enemy rockets/ships so they just collide into you without letting you do anything). This mission is definitely better than another flying mission later in the game but we’ll get there when we do.
