Before I can reach Adventure Mode's second boss, I not only need to collect Trophies, but also Gems and Crystals, which can be gotten from levels after collecting their Trophies.

I'll be covering Gem & Crystal Challenges together in videos.
----------

Gem Challenges focuses on placing some kind of handicap on you, such as making you more points to lose than the enemies, or less to preserve, depending on the game.

For Ballistix games, you have less points than the opponents. You just need to overcome this and win anyway in order to win the Gem.
----

Crystal Challenges are more creative than Gem ones. They not only place a more specific handicap or hazard on you, but also give the stage itself a makeover. Plus, every Crystal challenge is different regardless of the stage or the style of that stage.

Crashball's Crystal has you win a match without the ability to use the Extra Kick. Meanwhile, all of your opponents can still do that.
----------

Gem & Crystal Challenges are often harder than Trophy challenges in different ways as they're often about placing you in different disadvantages that won't often affect the enemy.

The only mercy of them is that you only have to win them once instead of three times to get their prizes.

Unlike Crash Team Racing, you will not be able to reach the Credits this time until you get enough Gems & Crystal alongside the Trophies.
