Crisis Beat Walkthrough Part 1: Rear Upper Deck (INTRO & DAUGH BOSS FIGHT)
1Welcome back to the channel, dear gamers. As promised, today i'll be kickstarting another walkthrough. This one will be significantly shorter and more obscure than my usual offerings but i hope you'll like it regardless. The game in question is of course, an obscure beat-'em-up Crisis Beat. Enjoy the gameplay.
Please note that this game is structured into two scenarios that focus on an single pair of four protagonists (Eiji/Julia and Keneth/Yan). Despite this, game is mostly same in both scenarios, save for slightly different cutscenes. For this reason, this walkthrough will only focus on the first scenario and treat it as an entire game. It should be noted that this game is very short as it can be beaten in an single two-hour session. With that out of the way, enjoy the gameplay.
About Game: Crisis Beat (also written as CRISISBEAT) is 1998 Beat-'Em-Up video game developed by Soft Machine and published by Bandai as PlayStation exclusive. It was first released in Japan before also being released in Europe in 2000 whereas North America never saw the official release. Due to this limited release radius, Crisis Beat wasn't well-covered by the gaming media of its time and has fallen into obscurity despite being re-released on PlayStation Network in 2013. While some scarce information about the game exists on the internet, it isn't enough to accurately gauge its critical and player reception at the time of release or retroactive opinions on it although i can personally say that i consider Crisis Beat to be fun albeit extremely basic, short and rather forgettable Beat-'Em-Up that ultimately drowned in many similar games of the time.
Story of the game is set during the night of December 24th, 1998 and takes place aboard Princess Of The Fearless, an massive ocean cruise liner on an trip between New York City and Tokyo. As it moves through the Atlantic Ocean, ship is boarded and hijacked by the terrorist organization led by ex-soldier named Whigen who intends to detonate an extremely powerful nuclear weapon smuggled onboard in order to cause an world-ending catastrophe with four of the passangers who avoided being captured finding themselves forced to fight back against the terrorists and stopping their insane plan.
While lounging on the upper deck of the ship before the Christmas party set to be held later that evening, Asian-American police detective named Eiji Garland witnesses the terrorists taking over the ship's upper decks and, while running through the deck, encounters another passanger, supermodel named Julia Jefferson with two deciding to join forces in order to escape the upper decks, Julia also revealing that she is trying to find her younger sister Millie who was taken hostage by the terrorists. Making his way into the inner cabins of the upper deck, Eiji ends up encountering one of the terrorists' enforcers, an sword-wielding assassin named Daugh whom he is forced to engage in an fighr within the ship's lounge bar...
