After numerous leaks and updates, Stellar Blade is slated to launch on PC on June 11th. However, a significant hurdle has emerged: the game is currently region-blocked in over 130 countries, including the Philippines. This decision comes despite developer Shift Up clarifying that a PlayStation Network (PSN) account is "entirely optional and NEVER required" for the PC version. To further complicate matters, the PC release will include Denuvo DRM, a controversial anti-tamper technology that has raised concerns among PC gamers. While this might suggest limited options for those in affected regions, there's a glimmer of hope. Shift Up has issued a statement confirming they are "closely discussing the region lock issue with the publisher Sony and are doing our BEST to resolve most of it as soon as possible." They also claim that their DRM has been "hard tuned to maintain the same average frame rate, with even higher minimum frames in some cases," and that "mods are fully supported without any restrictions." With both the PC and PS5 versions offering the same content and a promise of no early buyer disadvantage through future updates, fans are left hoping Shift Up can mitigate this widespread region lock.
Remember Warzone Mobile? Well, Activision has announced they are discontinuing updates for the game. As part of this move, all in-game purchases have been removed, and social features will soon be halted. Players who installed the game before Monday, May 19, 2025, will still be able to access it, retain cross-progression of shared inventories, and utilize servers for matchmaking. Any unspent COD Points can also be redeemed for available in-game content. Activision released a statement clarifying their decision: "Going forward, we will be streamlining the scope of the game. This decision was made after careful consideration of various factors; it unfortunately has not met our expectations with mobile-first players like it has with PC and console audiences. As a result, we will no longer be delivering new seasonal content and gameplay updates to the mobile version. Effective immediately, players will no longer be able to purchase Call of Duty Points or Black Cell using real currency in Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile." This raises questions about the exact reasons behind the shutdown. Was it due to performance issues, or perhaps lower-than-expected profits compared to their PC and console counterparts?
