Yes it's finally here. Stop @'ing me in the comments lol

Anyway in case you didn't know what the title's about the Himalayas are a mountain range that form a natural border between China and India. It's had the effect of making the Chinese side extremely dry which is the landscape of Tibet. Oddly though our Chasm despite being rocky and mountainous is meant to be a shoutout to Inner Mongolia. But that region is equally dry and you can't blame Mihoyo for taking advantage of the local Matouqin to produce that amazing Chasm soundtrack.

-ahem- On the other side is India which got all of the moisture from those mountains that China is cut off from. So just like in Genshin you have a situation where one side is super dry rocky mountains while the other is dense rainforest.

Now you might be asking "wait a second didn't you theorize that Sumeru is based on Achamenid Persia?" And to that I say yes I did. Didn't you guys know? Achaemenid Persia is actually the origin story of today's India. See today's India is made up of the Vedic people and the Vedic are part of the giant migration of humans called the Indo-European Migration. Actually if you really deep dive into it Sumeru's name and all the Indian terms we get from the region are based on Pali which is currently spoken in the same region where the Farsi or Indian Persians fled to when Persia fell. In other words the only part of India that Mihoyo took inspiration from for Sumeru is the Persian part. Kusanali Jataka the story that brought us our Lesser Lord Kusanali and Greater Lord Rukkhadevata? Yep. Pali.

So anyway without further delay please enjoy episode one of the Sumeru Archon Quest!
