In terms of Trials I think the last time we got a single 4 star entry was v2.7 with Yelan, Xiao and Yanfei. It's very rare to have such meager pickings.
Even worse this time the banners only have Barbara and Xiangling to go along with Beidou and Beidou was around since launch so not too many people I'd imagine haven't gotten her yet. Personally I have all 3 of these guys C6'd so there's not really any reason for me to even try for these banners. (while I do appreciate Nilou I feel like I'd much prefer Nahida in v3.2 so I'm going to go for her instead as a f2p.)
Personally I feel like either Mihoyo is saying they were so confident in Nilou waifu potential that they felt people would pull for her no matter what or they were so unconfident in her that they decided not to even try. Compare these to Cyno's banner where we had the new Candace character and newer character Kuki plus fan favorite Sayu. And on top of all that Cyno was paired with Venti one of the most sought after 5 stars since launch. Yeah Cyno's banner was getting some action.
Ok so for the trials. I'm still garbage with Beidou. I don't like timing out her counter and wow what a mess this one was haha. You'll understand when you watch the video. Albedo was business as usual. Honestly outside of this Trial I don't think he's quite as good. Here it's a combo of weak enemies all geared towards Xiangling's strengths that I think Albedo just pushed her damage enough to get the job done very quickly. Personally I'm not a big Albedo fan. (I am lorewise though.)
Finally Nilou. I'm actually impressed by her. You won't see that in the video but I actually went back to try again and I appreciate her Support role with Dendro. It's definitely super niche and it severely limits what she can actually do in real gameplay but if Nahida is going to be a better applicator of Dendro or we get a better applicator of Dendro Nilou will be their best friend. And I had plenty of fun in later runs of her Trial.
