... I...really like this game. I like it. It's like XCom meets Heroes of the Storm.
You have the turn-based combat of Xcom with the Hero selection and abilities of HotS.
Simultaneous action selection (preparation/dash/blast/movement) means you have to anticipate the enemy team's actions, and it cuts down on waiting for the turn phase to complete drastically. You only have to wait 20s in Co-Op and PvP mode before the next turn. AI only mode means you get a whole 60s, if you're trying to learn a character or get a feel for the game.
My only concern is if the entrance fee is going to gate the game from a large playerbase. It is, after all, a predominately PvP arena-like game, and you need a large base of players to keep queue times short. I'm a bit curious why they didn't go for a F2P model, and offer a hero pack at $20 to start. [shrugs]
I'm going to enjoy this free weekend and decide to risk the investment over it, but I highly recommend everyone interested to get your feet wet for free while you can.
9/10 - Innovative, unique in the market, and a general good time, especially if you can grab some friends to join you. Excited to see how this pans out.
