The Cagney Carnation boss fight on expert makes each attack faster than normal, mixes different attacks simultaneously and includes an extra projectile instead of the regular 3 projectiles. All this definitely makes the boss feel more difficult to beat and just for shits and giggles, after beating the boss on expert, I went back and replayed the boss on regular difficult and I beat it on my 3rd time... despite dying on this boss numerous of times when I first versed this boss.
You can see the differences first-hand between expert difficulty and regular difficulty in this video.

I can definitely see a pattern to where, once you beat the boss on expert difficulty, the regular difficulty should be a cakewalk and it's funny because beating the game on regular difficulty isn't exactly "easy"😅.

Note: The only trophies I have left are beating every boss and getting an A rank, beating the game expert difficulty and doing a pacifist run on the Run & Gun levels.
